Is this company at all connect to an American company? I want to know the parent corporation so I can write them. Wow- didn't think this kind of backwards thinking happened anymore.
Sad to hear but absolutely true. Human beings ,as nature's creatures, have prediposed preferences to physical attributes...let it be women or men....come on now, we can ALL tell when someone is beautiful or not....and this has nothing to with size per se....
I think the first women is absolutely beautiful. The others are beautiful too, they just have the wrong outfits on.
Everyone has their own preference on body type. 9 out of 10 guys I ask want a women with more meat on her then 99% of the women pictured in magazines. Curves are beautiful!
uh, heads up -- it is unhealthy to be obese. and it is not insulting to suggest that people lose weight be more attractive. i dont think it is backwards thinking to suggest that someone who is overweight ("over" = exceeds what is healthy) should attempt to lose that weight. the only unfortunate issue here is that it doesn't target men, too.
Don't judge a book by its' cover! In today's society everyone dotes on being super thin. I'm not sure I agree with their advertising approach, but this just goes to show that plus sized women are also beautiful! KUDOS!
You have to remember that these ads are from a society that is completely obsessed with body and size. There are not as many overweight/obese people there as in Western countries. I bet people in Brazil do not blink at the ad.
I think the makers are foolish and dont get people.. They appeal to people's worst insecurity and prejudices..
It's disgusting to see marketing firms catering to the obese. Instead of promoting fitness and healthy lifestyles, the world seems to be accepting obesity. Who cares if she has a beautiful face, she is overweight and not an image that should be used in advertising. It's no different than the ultra-skinny models that are catching so much flack for their appearance. I feel if a person can be to thin to model then you can also be to fat, and this women is to fat.
Mmmm, Now this looks delicious to me! I'd eat that yogurt, and the girls too! Love the girl in the pic with the rose pedels. She truly looks like the woman I will someday give the world to!
Sara, Why would you be scared by the Dove ads? IT's just flesh. God forbid you would be in a disfiguring accident. That's something to worry about. I assume you're young, because as you age you can no longer hang on to perfection, so I suggest you start to develop what's on the inside NOW and save yourself years of frustration.
the first ad is a spoof on Mena Suvari in "American Beauty". the second is a spoof on Sharon Stone in that leg-crossing scene from (?). the third is a spoof on Marilyn Monroe in "The 7-year Itch".
(some of the comments about the clothes being unflattering make me think people are missing these references).
kadarm... you really think those links you posted look plus size? that is ridiculous. she looks completely healthy. her legs/waist actually look similar to mine and i am a (current day/vanity sized or whatever) size TWO.
I wonder if the models knew their images would be used in an ad denigrating their very appearance. No matter how some of us see the photos, and disagree over what constitutes beauty, I highly doubt the agency disclosed in the photo shoots that the photos would be used negatively....
Itambé was indignant when taking knowledge of the advertisement of the Yoghurt Itambé Fit Light, which are available in the InterNet and had been created by the Advertising agency Salles Chemistri for a festival of advertisement. The publicity campaign sent by the Agency for the Festival had not been submitted to the approval of the Itambé and therefore they do not express the real values of the Itambé.
In official letter, the Salles assumes the responsibility for the authorship of the campaign.
We stand out that the Itambé, throughout its 59 years of existence, always had for principle the respect to all its consumers."
It was certainly interesting for me to read that blog. Thank you for it. I like such themes and anything that is connected to them. I would like to read more soon.

that first woman is sexy plus.
the second is wearing the wrong dress for her, and the wrong hair style.
The actual Marilyn Monroe would be too heavy to get a actress/model job today.
You forget the text, which reads:
"Forget about it. Men's preference will never change. Fit Light Yogurt."
The pictures are lovely, the women beautiful, the sentiment behind the advertising absolutely insulting.
Thanx for the translation.

I don't understand why some people are offended by this. To be honest I am a plus size woman, I don't find it offensive. It's an ad, who cares.

I think this is great, and besides it's true. And the women look sexy. I love the Brazillians!
good someone had to speak the truth! fat is unhealthy and gross. DOVE commercials scare me into dieting...
"In today's society" When was fat bringing sexy back? The 1600's?

Love the fact that the "plus size" women are saying they have no problem with the ad.
